The best AI agent for marketing (2026)

Agents that draft posts, blogs and campaigns in your brand voice, compared on price, what they actually cover, and whether they wait for your OK before anything goes public.

The longer answer. For most small teams the cheapest good start is the assistant you already pay for: ChatGPT Plus is $20 a month1 and Claude Pro is $20 monthly or $17 a month billed yearly2. Add Canva for visuals (Pro is US$144 a year)3. If you already run HubSpot Marketing Hub Professional, its content agent drafts blogs, social posts and landing pages in your brand voice, but every piece uses 1,000 HubSpot credits45. Jasper Pro ($69 a month, or $59 billed yearly) is built only for marketing6. If you want something that does the busywork across your tools, look at Lindy7 or Grok Bot8.

What we have and haven't done: we haven't tested any of these tools on marketing work yet. Everything here comes from the vendors' own pages, which we checked on 26 October 2026. Where a page didn't say, we mark it unknown.

What a marketing agent actually does

Most "marketing agents" do some mix of five jobs:

  1. Ideas: turn calls, launches and customer questions into topics worth posting about.
  2. Drafts: write blog posts, social posts, emails and landing pages in your brand voice.
  3. Visuals: make or resize images, slides and short videos.
  4. Scheduling and approvals: line up the week's posts and collect a yes from whoever signs off.
  5. Ads and reporting: watch campaigns, pull numbers and suggest changes.

The first four are low-risk as long as a person approves before anything goes out. The fifth one spends real money, so give it read-only access until you trust it.

Picks by situation

You're a founder doing marketing on the side

Start with ChatGPT Plus ($20 a month)1 or Claude Pro ($20 monthly)2 for drafts, and Canva for visuals. On ChatGPT Plus you can connect Canva and HubSpot10. Canva's free plan includes up to 20 AI uses3, so try it before you pay. If you want a deck from a conversation, ChatGPT Slides can export to PowerPoint or Google Slides, but it's rolling out to Pro, Business and Enterprise, not Plus10.

You're already on HubSpot

The content agent needs Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise4. It writes blog posts, social posts, landing pages and campaign assets using your brand voice and account data, and you review every draft before it goes live4. Do the credit math first. One piece of content costs 1,000 credits5. Professional includes 3,000 credits a month11, and extra credits cost $0.01 each, or $10 per 1,0005. By our math, that's about three pieces a month before you pay about $10 for each extra piece. Credits reset monthly and don't roll over5. Professional starts at $800 a month and adds a required $3,000 onboarding fee11, so it only makes sense if you need the rest of the hub too.

You have a content team that needs to stay on-brand

Jasper is built only for marketing. Pro ($69 a month, or $59 billed yearly) gives one seat, 2 brand voices and agents for core marketing workflows, with a 7-day free trial6. More than one user means moving to Business, which has custom pricing and a 12-month commitment, and adds GEO (showing up in AI answers), translation, deep research and a no-code agent builder6. On Business, agents use credits6.

You want social posts made from real work

Lindy's social media manager example reads your client calls, drafts a week of LinkedIn and X posts in each client's voice, schedules them and sends an approval link. In Lindy's words, "Nothing goes live until the client approves"7. Pricing starts at $29.99 a user per month with 3,000 credits, though some loads of Lindy's pricing page show $49.99 with 5,000 credits12. How many posts 5,000 credits buys: unknown.

You want an agent that works your tools like a person

Grok Bot runs on its own computer, uses the apps you log it into, can learn a routine by watching you do it once, and comes back to you for approval8. Its job list includes "Paid Media"8, but the page didn't say what that job does, so treat it as unknown. It's included from X Premium at $30 a month1415.

Your team lives in Google Workspace

Business Starter ($7 a user per month on the yearly plan) includes Gemini in Gmail and the Google Vids video maker. Standard ($14) adds Gemini in Docs, Meet and more16. It's a good fit if most of your marketing is email, docs and short videos.

Guardrails that matter in marketing

  • Approve everything before it's public. HubSpot's content agent doesn't publish by itself4, Lindy waits for approval on anything with outside impact, like posting or publishing13, and Grok Bot checks back with you8. Keep it that way for the first month.
  • Fact-check claims and numbers. A made-up statistic or customer quote in an ad or blog is worse than no post at all.
  • Don't hand over the ad budget. Let an agent read campaign data and suggest changes. Change budgets yourself.
  • Watch credits, not just seat prices. HubSpot, Jasper Business and Lindy all charge for agent work in credits5613.
  • Check the training settings. ChatGPT Business doesn't train on workspace data9, while on Plus you have to opt out1. Jasper and Lindy say they don't train on your data613, and Claude's consumer plans are listed as opt-out2.

A one-week test

  1. Write down your brand voice in five lines, with two posts you were proud of as examples.
  2. Give the tool one real input, like a customer call summary, a launch note or a FAQ, and ask for a week of posts plus one blog outline.
  3. Score each draft: would you publish it as is, after edits, or never?
  4. Time how long your edits take. If editing takes longer than writing from scratch, stop there.
  5. If most drafts are usable, connect your scheduler or CRM with approvals on, and compare a month of output and results with the month before.
